The De Lanerolle Brothers in Concert
At Theatre
Sat 22 September 2012 **archived event**
The De Lanerolle Brothers have enthralled audiences around the globe, their voices as stunning as the island of Sri Lanka where they were born. Tenor Rohan and bass Ishan have performed as individuals and as a duo in such renowned concert halls as Carnegie Hall in New York and The Altadena Open Air Theatre in Los Angeles to name but two. The brothers’ impressive vocal range and rich tones have bewitched audiences in every continent and their passion for music is almost palpable in their charismatic performances. Rohan and Ishan’s desire to inspire each new generation in Sri Lanka has led to them organizing many charitable concerts around the world to raise funds for Jaffna, enabling the children and young people of the war-torn areas of their country to experience the joy that music can bring.
As part of their UK tour in the autumn of 2012 they are performing at Solihull Arts Complex for one night only, a not-to-be missed evening of musical diversity, encompassing songs from the opera and musicals that will delight and charm you. They are accompanied by the significant talent of Jonathan Clarke on piano and by special guests, sopranos Sara Wallander-Ross and Katharine Cooper. The brothers are also delighted to be joined by a chorus of singers made up from several operatic societies from the Solihull and South Birmingham area.
The programme will include music from Puccini, Mozart, Bizet, Handel, Schonburg, Hammerstein and many more.
